VALUES We keep our promises. We stand by the promises we make to our clients and associates. We meet deadlines, deliver high-quality services, and keep sensitive data strictly confidential. We tell the truth. We report research data objectively and don’t misrepresent research findings to serve any individuals’ agenda or soften a difficult message to our client. We believe both positive and negative findings are informative and present opportunities for learning. We embrace simplicity. We believe less is more. We review survey data, cut through the “noise,” and consolidate findings into concrete,bite-size, actionable items. We’re curious. We value continuous learning and are open to new ideas. We strive to stay abreast of the latest developments in research methods, management theory, and organization development. We believe by nurturing a curious mind grounded in solid research, we can deliver high-quality and insightful work to our clients. We have fun at work. We want our clients and associates to enjoy the process as we discover what matters most to employees, design services and processes to create a better experience for employees, and take steps to build a better workplace that’s healthy and rife with opportunities.
Pi Wen discovered her passion to work with people rather than write codes when she worked at NEC Singapore. Hired as a Systems Engineer, she found herself most energized when talking with clients to discover their needs and providing training to the staff after a customized solution was delivered. She started her professional career in talent management consulting with the Communications Practice at Hewitt Associates in 1995. As a Listening Consultant, Pi Wen led and managed employee engagement survey projects, interviewed executives, and moderated employee focus groups for Fortune 500 companies. In 1999, Pi Wen moved to the Research Practice where she led Hewitt’s global Best Employers study. In this role, she created a consistent research framework for 16 countries; collaborated with project managers in Asia Pacific, Europe, India, Latin America, and North America to facilitate knowledge transfer; partnered with Marketing to launch an online portal for the global study; and provided statistical analysis guidance to associates in India. Her experience working with associates around the world has further honed her facilitation skills and deepened her understanding of the nuances of communication styles across cultures. In addition, Pi Wen has done extensive research on successful leaders. Her research contribution was acknowledged in Leading the Way by Robert Gandossy and Marc Effron and Leadership and Talent in Asia by Mick Bennett and Andrew Bell. Recently, she also published an article on “Healthy Workplaces for Better Engagement” in Human Factor. Her latest endeavor is to integrate research in positive psychology, design thinking, and health and wellness to help her clients create a work environment that supports and motivates employees. When she’s not consulting with clients or writing, Pi Wen enjoys capturing myriad human expressions through her camera lens. Pi Wen received her Ph.D. and master’s degrees in applied quantitative psychology from Ohio University and her B.S. in mathematics from the National University of Singapore. She is a member of the Northern California HR Association (NCHRA), the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), and a Board Member of ASTD Golden Gate Chapter.
